Minor League Biography Project

The Minor League Bio Project is an ongoing independent research effort devoted to correcting and updating early professional minor league baseball players’ historical playing records.

The project spans the history of minor league baseball from its beginning through the mid-twentieth century, a period during which many player records are inaccurate, incomplete, or missing entirely.

Using resources such as archived newspapers and both historical and modern baseball databases, this project attempts to reconstruct a player’s career as accurately as possible.

Project Overview

This project focuses on correcting errors in existing minor league baseball records, including players who are missing, misidentified, or assigned to incorrect teams. The goal is to improve the accuracy of historical team rosters — not simply to repeat existing data.
